With one piece of silverware already banked by way of the WBBL Cup this season, Hatters are moving towards taking their second.

Vanessa Ellis and her team made a statement of intent with a big win at Wildcats to stay unbeaten in their Group and are on the verge of making the Trophy Semi-Finals.

Leading scorers – Chelsey Shumpert 32, Jasmine Joyner 18, Michelle Bradley 6 (Wildcats); Sarah Toeaina 26, Helen Naylor 22, Allison Gorrell 16 (Hatters)

Turning point – Scoring the last 10 points of the first half shifted the momentum firmly in the favour of the visitors.

Key stat – Hatters played with great control and kept turnovers down, while they shot a deadly 52% from two-point range.

Game hero(es) – As usual, Sarah Toeaina led Hatters with a super 71% shooting effort for her 26 points – as well as adding 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Helen Naylor also netted a nice 22 points. Meanwhile Jasmine Joyner was unfortunate to be on the losing side with a mammoth 18 points and 19 boards for Wildcats – as was Chelsey Shumpert with 32 points.
