Wildcats add Sedlakova to the roster

Nottingham Wildcats’ busy summer continues with the addition of four year NCAA II standout Tereza Sedlakova.

A versatile forward, Sedlakova recently graduated from Florida Tech, averaging 10ppg in her senior year and shooting 45% from the field.

“I am very excited to join the Wildcats as I think it will be a great experience and a challenge at the same time.” said Sedlakova.

“Obviously, the playing styles in the USA and in Britain are a bit different and going from a team leader to a newbie again might not be easy at first but I’m up for the challenge.”

Sedlakova is now the sixth announced signing as Nottingham reiterates again that they are trying to take steps forward and have decided to complete their business early.

Although new to the WBBL, Sedlakova is no stranger to European basketball representing Slovakia U20 most recently at the 2017 European championship and gaining promotion to Division A after losing in the final to Germany.

“Tereza is going to really complement the group, adding toughness and a high basketball IQ,” added Head Coach Kenrick Liburd.

“We are really excited for what she can bring to the forward spot, her ability to play both facing and back to the basket.

“I’m really excited about the team we are putting together. We like the kind of people that are coming into the squad and we’re excited by what they have done on and off the court.

“Tereza is a scholar athlete who is another huge positive in terms of improving the makeup of our roster.”

Sedlakova concluded, “Personally, I want to develop to be an athlete that younger players can look up to, on and off the court. That is also one of the main reasons I chose Nottingham Wildcats. I am very thankful for this opportunity and cannot wait for season to start.”
