Noelle van Zadelhoff adds additional inside presence for Wildcats

Nottingham Wildcats have added 6ft 3in Dutch centre, Noelle van Zadelhoff, who becomes the seventh Signing of the season for the East midlands franchise.

Van Zadelhoff previously played in the second tier back in Holland last season and was a four-year NCAA II athlete at Southern Wesleyan University. During her graduating year, she started 22 out of 25 games, averaging 7 points and 6 board per game, while also leading the team in starts and blocked shots.

“When I first learned about the Wildcats, I knew that I wanted to be part of the team,” enthused Van Zadelhoff.

“The atmosphere of the club and enthusiasm of players and coaching staff was very welcoming and encouraging. It’s a great opportunity to join this team and improve my game. I’m looking forward to playing with the Wildcats and adding some steady play in the post.”

Meanwhile Wildcats’ play-caller Kenrick Liburd stated: “Noelle will add real depth on the inside for us, since our group needed to be deeper and be able to protect the basket at all times.

“Her attitude work ethic and upside really excite us.”

Zadelhoff adds to the early summer signings brought in by Nottingham, with the Dutch national able to add to a front court that lacked depth last season – even if it boasted the presence of the standout Jasmine Joyner who was among the league leaders in rebounds, scoring, blocks and minutes during her debut WBBL campaign.

Liburd continued: “Noelle was great on the visit at the end of last year and we are very excited that she has decided to join us for the upcoming season.

“We are excited to add another good character and feel she will have a positive impact on the programme.”
