Molten WBBL Player of the Month award goes to Joyner

There was only one candidate to take the first individual player honour of the new 2019-20 season and that was Nottingham standout Jasmine Joyner.

She makes it a Wildcats’ double after taking the accolade, fresh from playcaller Kenrick Liburd landing the Molten WBBL Coach of the Month award.

Having lit up the league last year during her rookie season, the return of Joyner has seen her even more dominant for the East Midlands franchise this time around.

So much so, she has made history by becoming the first ever player in history to make five weekly All-Star Five line-ups in a row. If that wasn’t impressive enough, she is also the first player to have ever averaged an efficiency rating of more than 30 when taking the monthly gong.

Her numbers have been absolutely mind-blowing and racked up en-route to taking her team to the top of the WBBL Championship standings, safely past the opening round of the WBBL Cup and into the Semi-Finals of the Betty Codona WBBL Trophy.

Joyner has amassed a spectacular 21.2 points and 14.2 rebounds per outing, also swatting a staggering 3.7 blocks per game and grabbing 2.8 steals.
