The British Basketball League (‘BBL’) and the Women’s British Basketball League (‘WBBL’), in association with Molten, are delighted to announce the adoption of the new Molten BG4500 Basketball as the ‘Official BBL/WBBL Game Ball’.
As part of the continued prospering sponsorship with Molten, the world’s leading manufacturer of sports balls and equipment, the new BG4500 will become the official ball of both leagues in all Championship, Cup, Trophy and Play-Off games beginning with the 2020-21 season.
The adoption of the new BG4500 means that Molten’s distinctive, patented 12-panel basketball has been the exclusive and official ball of the BBL for nearly 15 years.
Made from a premium composite leather, the new FIBA approved BG4500 delivers a new surface texture which gives the ball an optimum grip over the traditional pebble grip basketballs, even when in contact with sweat or moisture, and the original leather texture surface area in contact with the hand is wider by 95% compared to that of conventional pebble surfaces for better grip.
